In Him

“For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” Second Corinthians 5:21

What you think of Jesus is all important. He is the only person who has ever lived who never knew sin. And because of that, he was the perfect sacrifice for our sins. He suffered for the sins of the world as if He had committed them all. Why? so that, just as He was made sin, we might be made righteous. The only way for sinful people like us to be made righteous is ‘in Him’. Won’t you accept His sacrifice for your sins today?

The Just for the unjust

“For Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, so that He might bring us to God.” First Peter 3:18a

Since he was just, since he was perfect, he only had to die once to bear the sins of the whole unjust world. And why did he do it? ‘so that He might bring us to God’. Being unjust separates us from God, but Jesus died for us so that he might bring us to God. What a wonderful thought, that in the company of Jesus we can have our sins washed away and have peace with God. Truly, there is no other way.

According to his mercy

“Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us.” Titus 3:5.

Mercy is something extended to someone who doesn’t deserve it. We don’t deserve salvation, our works of righteousness are not good enough. Regardless, he extends his mercy to us and offers us salvation out of the goodness of his heart. Will you not trust in his mercy today?
