The youth group at Helmers Street is currently working to raise funds to help our 3rd-12th graders go to camp at Southland in Ringgold, LA. Southland offers a Christ-centered week of activities that teaches and encourages the kids to live a life fully surrendered to Jesus Christ. The cost of the camp is $240/camper.
A camp scholarship is available. To qualify for the scholarship, we are asking the campers to memorize twenty scripture passages. The list can be found here.
To help finance the scholarships, we will be hosting several fundraising events. Anyone interested in donating directly to the fund can use the Paypal button below:
Fundraiser Events and Times
May 19, Car Wash, 12-6pm. We will be using the O’Reilly parking lot on the corner of Irvington/Crosstimbers to wash cars at $5/wash. Cold drinks and baked treats will be available for an additional $1.
May 27, at 10am, 11am and 5pm, Bake Sale. We will be selling baked goods at the Church during each of the services.
June 16, BBQ Plate Sale, 12-16pm. We will be selling BBQ plates at $10/plate in the O’Reilly parking lot (Irvington/Crosstimbers). Each plate will come with hot-from-the-grill chicken and sausage, and two sides. Drinks and baked treats will be available for an additional $1 each.
June 23, Church Rummage Sale, 8am-2pm. We will meet in the church parking lot @ 7721 Helmers Street
